U.S. Congress meet 1st born of TeaParty Movement

….and like most 1st born who succeed, they are smart, informed, politely impatient and energetic.

I note those first born TeaParty Congressional members have come to the attention of Democrats and maybe responsible for them -Democrats- having a summit meeting ‘for messaging’ these past few days. I can visualize Nancy Tee-hee and Harry ‘Dropy drawers’ Reid as cheer-leaders energizing the audience at various intervals during the conference.

I posit to Democrats and establishment Republicans:
In my opinion, reaction to the TeaParty individuals in Congress is called a *conundrum which forces people into areas of critical thinking.

For many of us, a conundrum is part of the maturation process and we can identify with painful consequences of defying Mother Nature through religion, arrested development or otherwise (with stupidity being high on the list).

Republican speech writers good “pacifiers”

Pacifier
Most babies have a strong sucking reflex. Some babies even suck their thumbs or fingers before they're born. Beyond nutrition, sucking often has a soothing, calming effect. That's why many parents rank pacifiers as must haves, right up there with diaper wipes and baby swings. But are pacifiers really OK for your baby? Although the answer to that question is often debated, the American Academy of Pediatrics gives pacifiers the green light.

It seems like forever the word was that new Republican members of Congress who were ushered in from the 2010 elections had to satisfy their constituents by repealing the Health Care Bill “...or whatever name you wont’sta call it!” I therefore wear two hats writing this post.

I have nothing but respect for the freshmen Republicans who, with no BS whatsoever, immediately commenced to satisfy their constituents who voted them into office. In my opinion, it was without question brave, noble and noteworthy. It was a class act! It set a precedence I can only hope will continue and be vigorously emulated by Democrats.

However and above all, the speeches I heard coming from Republican members on the House floor were breathtaking. I even gasped upon hearing one member use the word ‘Socialist!’ While listening to their speeches, I could do nothing but spread out red carpets for their talented speech writers who, contrary to all that is true regarding the Health Care Bill, were able to convey formidable and believable converses. It ever there were a ‘correct’ way to give a pacifier to a fretting child, they are masters! Kudos.

Hat tip to T.J. Holmes

Mr. Holmes is co-anchor of American Morning on CNN.

Mr. Holmes came to my attention about a month or two ago when he lowered his voice and I was able to understand everything he was saying. It struck me due to the fact lots of commentators try that technique during a segment and most of the time they fail. On that particular occasion when Mr. Holmes lowered his voice, I could understand every word he was saying. Ka-ching! And with no effort on my part, the windows of my mental slot machine read Skill! Talent! Discipline! and I smiled.

So it is yesterday morning, I found myself applauding Mr. Holmes at the end of his short segment with Rep. Steve King. I had to note not having applauded a speech since the Obama primaries, but yesterday sitting in my living room, I did ever so spontaneously applaud once again and it felt good!

Both men spoke well. The dialog between the two was froth with above average rhetorical skills and confidence with salient evidence of hard work and discipline in their backgrounds. It was one of those rare ‘Peaches and cream’ interview for me.

I can well visualize an Arena Stage fund raising “Lincoln-Douglas Debates” production featuring Mr. Holmes and Rep. Steve King.
If an author could create a script named Obamacare, it would do as well. There is some awesome talent between those two men and to repeat myself, it was like peaches and cream. I was very, very impressed (and especially proud of T.J.).

Here’s another one for yuh, Eric Holder!

Swiss whistleblower Rudolf Elmer plans to hand over offshore banking secrets of the rich and famous to Wikileaks

In the world of today and in my opinion, doing your best is not good enough! I think the Department of Justice and other American agencies can not think, prepare for nor deal with any meaningful solutions under their charge due to the fact they can not think and strategize beyond entanglements inherent in webs of paranoia.

With the Wikileaks papers, Mr. Holder has Sec. Hilary Clinton and ambassadors breathing down his neck and perhaps by-passing him altogether seeking help from powerful sub-units in the DOJ agency. I can imagine Ms. Clinton and ambassadors many a day coming into the building not visiting his office. He may even pass members of their entourage lurking in the halls. The fragmentation is glaring! The incompetence sun shiny bright. The ‘dead in your tracks’ scenario non-controversial.

In my opinion, Mr. Holder is knee deep in shit at the DOJ and he will drown in it. He has choices and, hopefully, friends in the agency willing to help him make difficult decisions.

Swiss whistleblower Rudolf Elmer plans to hand over offshore banking secrets of the rich and famous to WikiLeaks
Ed Vulliamy # The Observer, Sunday 16 January 2011
Excerpt:
The offshore bank account details of 2,000 "high net worth individuals" and corporations – detailing massive potential tax evasion – will be handed over to the WikiLeaks organisation in London tomorrow by the most important and boldest whistleblower in Swiss banking history, Rudolf Elmer, two days before he goes on trial in his native Switzerland.

And
British and American individuals and companies are among the offshore clients whose details will be contained on CDs presented to WikiLeaks at the Frontline Club in London. Those involved include, Elmer tells the Observer, "approximately 40 politicians".

And
Along with the City of London and Wall Street, Switzerland is a fortress of banking and financial services, but famously secretive and expert in the concealment of wealth from all over the world for tax evasion and other extra-legal purposes.
