Critical thinking vs. Disarming reality

In my opinion, the evening hosts on MSNBC have done a yeomans’ job in walking  viewers through the process of critical thinking during this political season.

Critical thinking is a type of reasonable, reflective thinking that is aimed at deciding what to believe or what to do.[1] It is a way of deciding whether a claim is always true, sometimes true, partly true, or false. Critical thinking can be traced in Western thought to the Socratic method of Ancient Greece and in the East, to the Buddhist kalama sutta and Abhidharma. Critical thinking is an important component of most professions. It is a part of the formal education process and is increasingly significant as students progress through university to graduate education, although there is debate among educators about its precise meaning and scope.[2]

This is the political season the President called, “The silly season”. This is  the season of Presidential campaigning wherein the opposing party and its surrogates engage in various combative efforts to win the White House and seats in Congress.

Further in my opinion,  Republican efforts to sway voters to their side have razor sharp bob-wire borderlines of insanity attached to them,  a chief component of racism and other issues associated with efforts to manipulate reality as our society has deemed it to be.  I have personally concluded that in any society, past or present, there are clusters of people so prone.

I am mindful of the racism associated with the legendary fight between boxers Joe Lewis and Jack Johnson called, “The Great White Hope”. Enough said. I’m stuck, challenged by my late night/early morning writing skills. I end my efforts by saying I think a strong argument can be made between the power of knowledge and critical thinking skills as I extend heartfelt Kudos to MSNBC evening hosts and their associates.

Fighting for the dignity of my Ancestors,
God bless Bill Gates, WPFW, C-SPAN and the spirits of the unborn for the help,

Iran: Hillary stoking the flames?

I find it disturbing that Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, by her lonesome and with a stroke of her pen, can so arrogantly inject herself into the internal affairs of Iran. Any cop on any beat you name can warn  you of the dangers you encounter interfering in domestic relationships.

Ms. Clinton should know from her experiences in Libya that many problem do not simply go away by clicking her heels three times and all stories do not end with, “…and they all lived happily after”.

As always,

U.S. to remove MEK from terrorist list; group seeks ouster of Iranian leaders

By Hannah Allam | McClatchy Newspapers
Excerpt:
Supporters of the Mujahedeen-e-Khalq, better known as the MEK, gathered for an early celebration rally in front of the State Department hours after the news leaked that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had sent word to Congress about the decision. Officially, the decision isn’t yet public, and lawyers for the group said they were advising caution in case there were unforeseen conditions attached to the delisting.
