GOP: World Class Disgrace

Sen. John Boehner: National Shame

His conduct appears to be personal. It appears to be a “Free at last!” moment. It appears to be a cry for help, perhaps due to an identity and/or mid-life crisis. These kinds of behavior have been seen before in America.

Sen. Boehner has been on television for the past few days with avid vows to de-rail the HealthCare Reform Bill by any means necessary. I can not shake off images of the movie “Little Caesar”, “The Manson Murders”, “Jonestown” and the Waco incident.

Thoughts re-surface as to how people who follow that kind of mentality can be so stupid! You wonder how one person can have so much power over a group of people to motivate them into behaviors and beliefs contrary to social norms and their own interests. Can that many people who have to meet so many people to get voted into Congress just “up” and morph into Dodo birds? It is un-believable!

These past few days have thoroughly convinced me if Republicans get back into power and Sen. Boehner is still around, within the batting of an eye he would begin impeachment proceedings for Pres. Obama. And with his fellow cult like Republicans, he would be successful with help from many equally weak minded Democrats, eager to jump on board. You couldn’t keep them away even if they would have to sue in courts to be included in the proceedings.

For me, a registered Independent, this present a big voting problem. What to do? I am doing the only thing I can do at this time; I wring my hands in disgust waiting for the tragedy and elation of the vote on Sunday to un-fold! In the meanwhile, Mr. Peacock, aka John Boehner, has to take a few more struts down the Cake Walk followed by a couple of Dodo birds, both Republican and Democrat. Ugh!

As always,
BB.
P.S. Just as Sen. Boehner and his fellow Republicans, I too can have no shame.

Pres. Obama, killer of dreams

One can only imagine the tormented feelings of white politicians watching their dreams slowly die as Sen. Barack Obama inched closer and closer to the prestigious oval office in the White House.

What sent white politicians wrenching was slowly witnessing the bar being raised for them becoming President of the United States. There was this academic record of the Senator, his brilliant mind, the un-tarnished family dynamics and the endorsement of American patriots like Sen. Edward Kennedy. White Testosterone and colorful Envy danced in concert and the vitriol did not go un-noticed. The dance continues to this day.

Hostilities were not only coming from the opposition but also from members of the Senator’s own party and now foul smelling nightmares emitting from dead dreams of Presidential wan-a-be’s and their supporters circle the globe.

The death of a white boy’s dreams is a big deal. Due to the fact those dreams are so closely aligned with one of the most converted dreams of white America, becoming President of the United States, makes its death a very, very big deal.

As stench from the nightmares of dead dreams continue permeating the air amidst the now obscene dance of Testosterone and Envy, the President proceeds to hammer the final nail into the lid of the coffin he himself assembled containing the body of his dreams, Old Medical Practice; the one that let so many people die needlessly. He is well aware part of his job is to protect the American people from harm, both foreign and domestic, so when he thinks about the death of Old Medical Practice, there is little to no remorse.

And now the President smiles as he begins signing the bill that lay on his desk. He has a flash of memories of what it took to get him to this point. He feels he has done the best he could. He hopes his Mother can now be comforted. He hopes she can now rest in peace. He tried so hard. A good son. Bravo!

If I were an independent film maker..

I would anticipate the historical mushroom clouds triggered by the President’s signing of the HealthCare Reform Bill.
I would perch myself in a hospital room with a patient who does not have health insurance and record the doctor coming in telling him/her Pres. Obama has signed a bill allowing a more aggressive program of treatment to go forth for their pre-existing condition.

Or…
I would find and record the joys of a parent telling her sick child to hold on because meaningful help is finally on the way after watching Pres. Obama signing the bill on TV.

Or…
I would try recording the excitement in a sports bar as the bill is being signed and record some individual stories.

Or…
I would seek to record workers on the mid-night shift talking about the signing of the bill and what it would mean for them and their families.

These are a few ideas off the top of my head and I am not good at suggesting what an independent film maker should do, but if you were to ask me what I would do if I could play the piano like Vladimir Horowitz or sing like Michael Jackson, I think I would do better. (Smile)

Greed and being diabolical

In my opinion, Bernie Madoff went tuh jail for one hundred and fifty years for greed. Sen. John Boehner didn’t.

I watched on Sunday as Mr. Boehner in his finest garments lay prostrate before the majestic shrine of Mephistopheles vowing with clinched fists that he will do everything within his power to prevent the HealthCare Reform Bill from passing. It was a stunning performance and I repeat, it was stunning!

For Mr. Madoff there are amendments that could be cast and votes taken and counted addressing the concerns of a society regarding greed. There are popular consensus, dancing dialogs and writings of Biblical proportions with occasional verbal gymnastics allowing a society to cope and address greed in its midst.

However, in the vaulted Halls of Diabolics there are no plugs to fill the gap; no healthy dialogs to pursue and certainly no help whatsoever from the Gods. At this time, I am mindful of the “cartoon” in a NY newspaper depicting the police shooting a gorilla.

The Shakespearean character Iago, who may well be the most odious and despised of the bard’s characters, is a real walking and breathing personality living amongst us. Woe be to us all when one or more of them perch upon the uppermost ledges of our American oligarchy. The damage they fester is devastating and there are some who may rightfully call such behavior non-human!

With that in mind, I have already formed an outline as to how I will be voting in the November 10th elections and looking forward to having candidates strengthening my various positions for the good or otherwise. There may be some selective reasoning but hey, that’s just the kind of guy I am! I take advantage of every opportunity I can to dispel the media myth that the public has a short memory. They wish! They feel journalistically-bound making sure we do not have short memories when a Tiger Woods, OJ Simpson or Michel Vick comes along.

Finally, and in my opinion, greed has some redemption qualities but there is no absolving a person who is diabolical. We mere humans do not have it within our power. We too have wishes!
Fighting for the dignity of my Ancestors,
God bless Bill Gates, WPFW, C-SPAN and the spirits of the unborn for the help,

P.S. I note the media has made TeaBaggers a cleverly disguised “anonymous source”.

Breaking: Dodd Proposes Dramatic Shake-Up Of NY Fed

by bobswern
Excerpt:
Dodd is proposing to wrest control of the appointment of the head of the NY Fed from its member banks and make it a White House appointment, instead. Another rule being proposed in the latest draft of his committee's financial regulatory reform legislation, to be unveiled tomorrow morning at 9:45AM, would prohibit member bank officers from sitting on the NY Fed's board.

And
If these proposals do manage to make it into the final legislation, and this legislation is passed, it will be the crowning achievement on Dodd's career. If not, IMHO, the regulatory reform being proposed would devolve into little more than, "a joke," as Barney Frank referenced this legislation, around a week ago.

Feds and 51% tax on SS checks

Recently, there have been lots of places to have your Income Tax done for free and electronically sent to the IRS.

I went to a place yesterday and was shocked that this year 51% of my Social Security Check was taxed by the Feds. “The good news is,” the volunteer continued, “the State does not tax Social Security Checks.”

That was supposed to have been the good news? Let’s talk about “Bait and switch!” Damn!!
