Sec. Holder to Gov. Brewer, “How can I help?”

With those four words, it is hard to imagine going through this drama presently unfolding in Arizona. With those four words, most likely Gov. Brewer would have replied in essence:

Thank you for asking, Mr. Secretary. Have a seat and I really want to thank you for not taking this matter into the courts.

As you can imagine, going into court would have exacerbated anxieties in our Latino community and heavily tapped into our already meager resources. As things now stand, we are broke and to have to go fighting your office in court and creating a media frenzy and paying overtime to my police and sanitation departments would have been something I would not wish on my worst enemy.

I'm glad I got your attention before signing that immigration bill. I was hoping we would have this talk before I felt I had to sign on the dotted line, and now that you are here, willing to listen and offering your help, I am grateful. Now these are the things I need your help and feedback on…..

The President: Multiple Achilles’ heels

I constantly ponder how we supporters of the President are going to defend him during his re-election cycle in 2012.

I am not sure many of us would be able to defend the Achilles’ heels he has allowed himself to lay bare. It was bad enough dealing with his vote to give immunity to the phone companies during his campaigning and now, as President, there are so many more vulnerabilities and as the saying goes, “…too numerous to mention”.

I recently read a post saying that the numerous bills passed by this administration are so compromised due to requests of the Republicans, they are, in essence, null and void. How can a door knocker or telephone ringer counter such an argument?

From where I sit, there is none. We would be defenseless with such confrontations and it the responder brings up the non-nomination of Elizabeth Warren, their arrows will have hit another mark spot on.

If that happens, you will have two choices: If you are a telephone ringer, you could hang up and if you were a door knocker, you could slap their face and loudly fart as you slam shut their gate!

In 2010, in America, cell phones are dropping calls as we conduct “Exercises” with South Korea to intimidate North Korea. And we are fighting and spending our treasury on two wars for whatever reasons the Pentagon says is the soup de jour. Our infrastructure dies so those of other countries may live.

In 2010 America, this is what is happening. “The richest and most powerful country in the world!”

On dealing with parenthesis
I really enjoy some post and diaries when I read them while over-looking the numerous sentences and sometimes whole paragraphs written in parenthesis. I personally find an abundance of parenthesis distracting and most often, superfluous. Many times, to avoid parenthesis, you have to take time to re-construct your sentences.
