Old: “If it bleeds, it leads!”

If memory serves me correctly, it was a Black anchor who coined this expressions when asked how his TV show would chose news items to report. I don’t recall his name but I think he is now dead.

In my opinion, the new motivation for choosing news items is, “Find a racial element and go for it!” We can bring this country to its knees through deceptions and polarization.

I have notices of late, both Rachel and Ed Schultz appear to pull racial elements out of thin air when reporting a story. Ed doing it more than Rachel. There is the appearance Ed, Limbaugh, Glenn Beck et al., are feeding off each other at the same trough.

Further, I have long felt strong efforts afoot to make America a modified replica of Apartheid South Africa or West Bank Israel. And at this time, while the media is busy endorsing strong efforts to re-brand the KKK as TeaBaggers, a subtle and subliminal fight has emerged between TeaBaggers and Neocons via racial hatred of Blacks.

The fight is over, ’Who will run this country?’ It is an interesting theory. There are times I sit amused by the fighters’ antics. I feel they are akin to the Hatfields and McCoys with deep, skillful psychological components at play and strong support from media personalities. I am mindful the struggle is a complicated one for ultimate power; the control of a country.

As always,
BB
P.S. Question: Will there be a larger Black presence at the next big TeaBagger event? (Smile)
Why is ABC News promoting Palin's Race-Baiting Smears on the President and First Lady?
by Hopefruit2
Excerpt:
So it looks like the media is going to help Sarah Palin run for President in 2012. And yes, they will promote her lies, racebaiting, and do anything necessary to help her win the WH. They have basically started campaigning for her, as I found out this evening.

And
"I guess this shouldn't surprise us since both of them spent almost two decades in the pews of Reverend Jeremiah Wright's Church, listening to his rants against America and White people."

Democrats In Denial: On Forsaking Our Feud w/Neofeudalism
by bobswern
Excerpt:
Perhaps moreso than anything I've read to date, Louis Uchitelle's article (SEE: "Unions Yield on Pay Scales to Keep Jobs") in Saturday's New York Times provides us with an alarming, firsthand, crystal-clear snapshot of what Elizabeth Warren was referencing when she warned us, last December, of "AMERICA WITHOUT A MIDDLE CLASS--IT'S NOT AS FAR AWAY AS YOU MIGHT THINK." First, from Liz Warren (December 5, 2009):

George Soros, a dissatisfied customer

In my opinion, there could not be a clearer message to the President: “Shit or get off the pot!”

If memory is correct, this is the second time Mr. Soros has raised the red flag about his feelings regarding the Obama administration. The first time was his excuse for not making substantial contributions to the midterm elections.

I hope the messages from Mr. Soros do not get anymore serious than they appear to be at this time. It’s that ‘three strikes’ thing. I appreciate Mr. Soros giving fair warning to the President due to the fact it is gracious and to him I say, ‘Thank you’. The ball is once again in the Presidents’ court. (Sigh)

Tough Love For Obama and Democrats
by Th0rn
Excerpt:
George Soros has long been known to be unhappy with the accomplishments of the Obama Administration, after his strong support for him in 2008. According to a Soros spokesman, this didn't mean he was supporting the idea of a primary challenger for Obama for 2012. At least not yet.

And
Funds can go to the president's reelection campaign or they can go elsewhere. The lines are being drawn on that front - put up or the money is going to more productive uses:

Charlie Rangel: The 80 year old “Boy”

The question could well be, how do you treat an 80 year old boy who has represented New York's 15th congressional district for over 40 years? Just what do you do with an 80 year old boy possessing a dream of having a Rangel Center for Public Service located at the prestigious New York City College?

You find reasons to bring stress into his life. You charge him with ethic violations with his fund raising methods to build his center.

And after bringing charges, how do you deal with an 80 year old boy begging to have his trial conducted in a timely fashion before he goes broke paying his lawyers over two million dollars over a two year period preparing for his defense? What to do when those same lawyers shake him down for an additional one million dollars after his trial date is finally announced, abandoning him due to the fact he does not have any more money?

What do you do with an eighty year old boy whom the prosecutor himself shamelessly admits is the only one of many Congresspersons who has been investigated for raising money for the honor of having a center named after themselves?

Fund raising for centers happen all the time but, alas, for shame, not by an 80 year old boy.

And finally, the question remains: What happens to an 80 year old boy and his deferred dream? What do you do with him? Do you lynch him? Do you let him suffer the fate of Langston Hughes’ raisin by letting him dry up in the sun, or fester like a sore or begin to stink like rotten meat or just leave him to sag and explode in the forum heat of public humiliation?

"Learn me something, Dr. Cole."

I digressed.

Yesterday morning, I saw the charming Adele Stan on C-Span. Ms. Stan is the Washington Bureau Chief of AlterNet.Org. She is a ‘Progressive’(Ahem). It was love at first sight. Ms. Stan pushed all my right buttons when conversing with the moderator and answering questions from call-in viewers.

I had heard of AlterNet. Org but never visited the website. After Ms. Stans’ segment on Washington Journal, I went to the website and bumped into a lengthy article by Dr. Juan Cole who teaches History at the University of Michigan. I had also heard of Dr. Cole but do not recall reading anything he had written. Long story short, Dr. Cole has a lot to say and says it well.

"Lay on, Dr. Cole, and don’t spare my ed.chu.muh.cation. I’m all ears!"

Asian Powers Are Starting to Call the Shots, and the US Can't Do Anything About It
by Juan Cole
Excerpt:
Given tensions between Washington and Beijing over the massive balance of trade deficit the U.S. is running with China (which the Obama administration attributes, in part, to an overvalued Chinese currency), not to speak of other contentious issues, Iran may not loom large in their discussions. One reason for this may be that, frustrating as Chinese stonewalling on its currency may seem, they are likely to give even less ground on relations with Iran -- especially since they know that Washington can’t do much about it. Another fraught issue is China’s plan to build a nuclear reactor for Pakistan, something that also alarms Islamabad’s nuclear rival, India.

And
If you want to measure the scope of American decline since the height of the Cold War era, remember that back then Iran and Pakistan were American spheres of influence from which other great powers were excluded. Now, the best the U.S. can manage in Pakistan is the political (and military) equivalent of a condominium or perhaps a time-share -- and in Iran, nothing at all.

And
For purely self-interested reasons Prime Minister Singh has long taken the same position as the new Republican majority in the House of Representatives, urging Obama to postpone any plans to begin a drawdown in Afghanistan in the summer of 2011.

And
If the United States is to remain a global power, it is important that Washington offer something to the world besides arms and soldiers.
