The day Roe Vs. Wade became scripture
It was a pleasant sun-shiny Sunday morning when Republican Congressman Todd Akins announced on Fox News there was a difference between “legitimate rape” and “illegitimate rape”.
He espoused the Republican Party theory that during an illegitimate non-consensual rape, workers in the womans’ vaginal fluids system would go on strike and not carry the mans’ sperm into the targeted area housing her ovaries. He suggested the workers would take a lunch brake posting their “Out to lunch” sign at the entrance of her vagina thereby totally rejecting the sperm. The Indians cutting the Calvary off at the pass, if you will.
His theory, along with other Republicans, embraces their anatomical reality that if a woman were legitimately raped -with consensual approval- her vaginal fluids would flow and the workers would commence singing Hosanas and with great fanfare carry the sperm into her sacred ovaries chamber to begin their hanky-panky to create life as we know it to be.
In other words, they are saying if a woman becomes pregnant as a result of rape, she must have been enjoying it due to the fact all of the workers in her vaginal fluid cannel were pleased that she was being pleased and gleefully guided the sperm of the male to its resting place into her chamber of ovaries.
In my opinion, this is the reason anti-abortion groups want their Republican man in Congress and in the White House to repeal the 1973 Roe Vs. Wade law. Their members in the Congress would repeal the law and their Republican President would appoint appropriate judges to the U.S. Supreme Court to vote to make it the law of the land.
There were few of us knowing the real rationale for efforts to repeal Roe Vs. Wade but now after all these years, the cat is out of the bag and the language of Roe Vs. Wade has become venerated. As of Sunday, August 19, 2012, its place in American history is no longer holding the tenuous positions held in years past. This is a BIG deal!
