Pres. Obama got the message loud and clear

In my opinion, Pres. Obama got the message how easy it would be to kill him as soon after his un-invited guest had appeared before him at his first White House State Dinner on November 24th. It had to give him and his family shivers!

The President knows most of our Black assassinations were inside jobs. He knows on this very day we could be mourning his death. Our President knows that our assassinated Blacks were all considered a threat to the well being of the oligarchy. Our President knows those Blacks who were assassinated were assassinated to prevent a movement. Our President knows he has to play to stay alive.
Our President knows the man said:
Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land!

As always,
BB
P.S. A hat tip to Rep. Peter King and other Republicans who see the whole picture even if the White House doesn't.

The English department and School Climate

And Now the Children Follow
by NWTerriD
Excerpt:
I am a middle school teacher in an urban school district. My school is extremely diverse -- racially, academically, linguistically, socioeconomically, any other way you can think of. Like any similar school anywhere in the country, we have had occasional instances of racial conflict. In the years I have been at the school, these incidents have been rare, and the ones I've heard about have not involved intimations of white supremacy. They have more typically been between different groups of Asian and/or Latino immigrants.
And
I cannot stress enough how uncharacteristic this all is compared to prior years. As we've sat in staff meetings this week listening to administrators' reports about recent student interactions, I have looked around the room and seen shock written across my colleagues' faces. There is a general sense of "I thought we were beyond all that."

There are numerous examples of parents objecting to books in school libraries and curriculum. There is a reason for that, both positive and negative. I am mindful a few months back of some school districts not wanting students to hear the speech of Pres. Obama.

It is my understanding there is a place in Texas wherein all school curriculum for all school districts in American is determined and written. In my opinion, therein lie a big part of the problem. I feel if there is a strong, sensitive and dedicated English Department and Chairman in a school, student conduct can be measured on graphs.

There are other books besides “Diary of Anna Frank” and “To kill a mockingbird” for students to read, discuss and be tested on in their English classes. The elimination of Civic Classes has place a big burden on the English Department and exposed it extremely vulnerable.

P.S. I have noticed of late the camera operator on C-Span does not show April Ryan when she is asking a question as they do, say, Chuck Todd. I am assuming the camera operator and mixer are professionals who know what they are doing.

Conjugating phrases, sentences and paragraphs

I first noticed bullshit getting a kick in the ass when Pres. Clinton made a statement during the Monica Lewinsky debacle: *“It depends on what the definition of “is” is.

How one can set his mind in gear to think of something as brilliant as that, I’ll never know but that statement was my introduction, my maiden voyage, if you will, listening to political jargon as never before. In my world, his statement was a literary bombshell and it blew my mind. This happened in September, 1998.

So it is with a bit of transferring of knowledge and in the political climate of today, I notice the same manipulative mind set of Pres. Clinton present in the rhetoric justifying a troop build-up in Afghanistan. The logic is so convoluted, so full of bad energies, so ugly and un-attractive.

I deal with the logic by thinking of a person who not only has bad verb **conjugating skills but rather as an individual attempting to conjugate entire phrases, sentences and paragraphs. There are many and shorter names to call what the conjugators are doing but I can tune them out easier by saying to myself, “They repeated the already dumb talking point and now they are trying to conjugate it!” Rachel Maddow handles those kinds of situation well with her guests but then Rachel is more udgeumacated than I and to top it off, she is brilliant!
Confronting that kind of sustained and manipulative logic is what is turning my stomach now-a-days. My stomach has not gotten a moment’s comfort since the vicious Gen. McChrystal Pentagon leaks and subsequent propaganda regarding troop build-ups in Afghanistan. I will always contend the Gaza Strip is the model they are using and also trying to duplicate here in America. In my opinion, the same people are running both countries.

On going to war in Afghanistan, I think about all those people about to die and having to hear media pundits gloat over the facts we are winning and praising Pres. Obama for his courageous decision to make that commitment. It is truly a heart breaker. Color me sad.

“Laugh In” episode on C-Span today

The brief, and I do mean brief, hearing was titled “U.S. Troop levels and Strategy in Afghanistan”. It concluded a few minutes before 1:00 P.M. with apologies from the committee chair.
Sen. Mark Udal to VP Clinton:
(Paraphrased) Who is going to be in charge of this surge?
Clinton: It is undetermined at this point. (Translation: How’n tuh hell do I know!)

Sen. Susan Collins to Sec. Gates:
(Paraphrased) Why concentrate all out troops and treasury on Afghanistan when the cousins Al Quada and Taliban have taken root in 20 other countries?
Sec. Gates: Their Mother Ship is in Afghanistan.
Sen. Collins: (Gloating!) What a wonderful answer.

Fox has audience with the Hens

The Hens fluttered and bustled all day busying themselves getting ready for the big speech from the Fox. The time arrived with diminishing clucking falling to a dead silence as the Fox saunters on stage positioning himself at the podium.

First adjusting a brand new red, white and blue bow-tie then pulling a speech from his vest pocket and clearing his throat, in “fire and brimstone” voice he tells the Hens their house is going to be a model in Democracy for all other Hen Houses the world over to follow with leaders such as himself. He ends his speech with what one by-stander characterized “….an equally eloquent and cleverly veiled Sunday dinner prayer”.

Obama: “On the Good Ship Lollypop.”

It is going to be so sad this evening seeing our President blindfolded with hands tied behind his back walking the plank. I feel as if I am awaiting an execution. I shutter!

Afghanistan: Obama Drops The Other Shoe
Excerpt:
So what to make of all the talk about Obama's demanding fresh options, of 'off-ramps,' of an exit strategy? It looks to be nothing more than White House spin provoked by the embarrassing leak of Ambassador General Eikenberry's memo casting doubt on the strategic framework sketched above. It is now obvious that Obama's sudden 'rejecting' of the four options on the table, in light of Eikenberry's intervention, was just standard White House theatre. It is inconceivable that Obama was not already aware of Eikenberry's heretical views since the memo was written at the end of October; and, in any event, he surely knew his ambasador's thinking.

Do-do, Mud pies and Tooth Fairies

The wish list for gaining control of Afghan poppy fields continues in its circular orbit. People die as America continues playing her polar games. Plucking rose petals, Spinning the Bottle, Knock-knock. Sad.
NYTimes: Obama's exit strategy for Afghanistan comes Tuesday.
by Nuisance Industry
Excerpt:
Mr. Obama was expected on Tuesday to describe commitments from Afghanistan’s president, Hamid Karzai, and specific benchmarks his government must meet — to crack down on corruption, deploy well-trained Afghan troops and police officers, and focus on development in one of the world’s poorest nations. Mr. Obama was expected to be far less specific about Pakistan, where Taliban leaders are commanding operations across the border against American forces, and where Al Qaeda’s central leadership still lives.

Barack takes driver’s test on Tuesday

Whether you call him your baby, your lit’le man, your son, your boy or the man of the house, when he goes to take his driver’s test, your nervous system is shot to hell. It ignores all efforts to act right. It has successfully conducted a mutiny on your head. A “coup” by any other name….

You are confronting a death! The death of his childish ways. The death of his childhood going into early manhood. You wish with all your heart you could take the test for him.

You try to comfort yourself death comes in many ways. There is the death of an apartment when you move from one to another; likewise the death of a house or automobile or marriage. The mourning period has to take its course; it is part of the maturation process. I am told if it takes longer than a year with little or no comfort, you should seek professional help.

With your son taking his driving test, his first and hopefully his last, you hope he remembers not only the actual hands on driving things you cautioned and drilled him on ad nauseum knowing he is cursing you under breath; you replay the admonishments you showered when you felt something he did was really and positively stupid! And the times - once or twice- you told him you wondered about his driving and decision making skills. You knew you were angry but you justified it with what you considered “tuff love!”

Of course there were times you told him how proud you were of him. You even boasted how he would some days take you shopping or run errands for you or made renewed promises to get him his own car “Maybe for your birthday or Christmas. Haven‘t made up my mind yet”. And of course you know his driving test will not depend on things you said that made him fell good or promises made. State Driving Test are designed for more than that. Much more. Still, you wish.

As you ponder his possibilities of failure, deep in your heart and above all else, you hope he remembers your talks about life and things you have engaged him with all his life. You hope and pray he remembers the lessons and things only parents can teach. “He can always take the test again” you mutter to yourself as you pull into one of several parking spaces reserved for customers taking the driving test.

As your son gets out of the car at the testing station and walks a bit ahead of you, you feel you are going to have a nervous breakdown right there in the tiny office you have entered as you watch him step forward to tell the receptionist his name and sign the clip-board on the counter signaling official notification he is ready to take the state’s driving exam. You notice a faint smile as he comes and sits next to you waiting for his name to be called.
