N.J. Gov. Christies’ veto on gay marriages bill

Gov. Christie said he wants the bill to be put on a ballot and voted on by the general public in November.

If I were a reporter in New Jersey and wanted to impress my editor, I would do some homework and write an article or series of articles on gay marriages. I would tell my editor this would be of public interest to voters as follows:
1. How long does the average gay marriage last?

2. What is the divorce rate by state?

3. What are the main reasons presented in court for the divorce?

4. What is the average household income? Average age, race and religion of partners?

5. Are there usually financial settlements in the divorce proceedings?

6. How many partners already have biological children and how many adopt? How is custody of the children decided? Will they have to go on welfare?

7. How many states have provisions for a gay marriage divorce and what are the criteria? (I just learned criteria is the plural of criterion)

8. I would try to insert the Civil Rights controversy if it does not throw my focal point off kilter.

After submitting my masterpiece to my editor, I will sit back and wait for my sure to come pay raise and inevitable promotions. My research and objectivity would be wildly acclaimed.

Presenting “Obama The Magnificent”

I have long had issues with the press and political pundits totally ignoring members of the Presidents’ cabinet.

Seldom, if ever, are we given the name of the cabinet member or head of the agency who actually issued a controversial proposal. To the press and pundits, it appears the controversial proposal is always created and personally issued by the President, aka Obama The Magnificent. I have noticed this practice occurring a great deal with pundits on AM radio.

In my opinion, the press and political pundits should identify and address, by name, the cabinet member or head of the agency directly responsible for their malcontent as follows:

Is the President considered a ‘bad administrator’ because it appears the inmates are running the asylum? Is he a bad administrator because he does not have checking mechanisms in place to review issues before they are made public? Is he considered by many to be a bad administrator due to their resolved racial issues?
