Compromise: Trading Rice for Kerry

The President has constantly told us  there will be  times he will make decisions we would not like. I think yesterday was one of those times wherein U.N. Ambassador Dr. Susan Rice (out of the blue) wrote a letter to the President asking for her name to be withdrawn from being considered the next Secretary of State.

 If the President choose Sen. John Kerry, the reportedly next highest contender for the post, a Senate Seat would open up in Massachusetts giving Republican darling Scott Brown a good chance of winning back a Senate Seat he lost to  Elizabeth Warren in 2012.         

End of story! The political composition of the Senate would not change, John Boehner would be happy and the President (No Drama Obama) would get whatever he bargained for  from the deal. It’s called “Compromising”.

Manufacturers returning to U.S.A.

I’ve been smiling for a few weeks now piecing together small bits of information I am hearing about manufacturers returning to the U.S. And all the while I keep mumbling  to myself a little snippet from a nursery rhyme I remember hearing in my youth: “…and they'll all come home wagging their tails behind them.” There’s a metaphor there somewhere. Got to be!  I can’t see it but I know there is one there. (Smile)

-Maybe a little reflection can help. I know the Obama Administration has started to put a tax on companies doing business off-shore but have their headquarters here in the states.

-I know that in 2014 Obamacare will relieve  many employers from paying escalating and staggering health care premiums for their employees.

-I know twenty three states have become “Right to Work" states and one more maybe added this afternoon.(Michigan)

-I know same sex marriages are allowed in many states and legalized marijuana is on the horizon, just shy of the cock crowing.

-A clear path to American citizenship is almost a slam dunk!

-I know the Obama Administration is working on revising the complicated tax code stirring up another  big fight with lobbyist who will now have smaller coffers due to Right To Work laws. I’m mindful of the infamous mushroom cloud! There is an expression, “You ain’t seen nothing’ yet!” and dammit, I still can’t find my metaphor but then, maybe there isn’t one.  Hell, I’m outta here! FI!

Manufacturing Companies Considering Moving Jobs Back To U.S. From China, Survey Finds

According to a survey by the Boston Consulting Group of executives at 106 manufacturing companies with $1 billion or more in sales, 37 percent said they are planning or "actively considering" onshoring. Among companies with more than $10 billion in revenue, that percentage shot up to nearly half.
