Republicans and Obamacare

In 2010, Republicans won the majority House seats  due to scaring the public regarding the influences of Obamacare and they  hope to win the Senate in 2012 by repeating the same scare tactics. Why would they question its effectiveness? If it worked in 1210, they muse, why would it not work for the 2012 elections?

Now the scare tactics are in debates between calling Obamacare a massive tax  or a penalty. I have heard the purpose of a tax as inserted into the U.S. Constitution is to increase the treasury of a country enabling its government to function. Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee made an interesting point the other day:

-
(Paraphrased) When you get  caught speeding, you do not get a Tax Ticket but rather a penalty for driving too fast. Conversely, you will not get a Tax Ticket for not buying medical insurance.

It would have been nice if Obamacare were already up and running.  It is my understanding by waiting and not launching full implementation  of the bill until  2014 is related to scoring from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). The delay has to do with projections of the deficit or present budget concerns or something.

And so it is,  before the public has  a chance to be exposed to the entire essence of Obamacare in 2014, Republicans and some Democrats want to stick out their chest and go down the preverbal rabbit hole to “Repeal and Replace”  it as early as Thursday, July 12th, 2012.

I note the difficulties of writing about nonsense and stupidity and dutifully salute Charles Lutwidge Dodgson aka Lewis Carroll for his epic  masterpiece “Alice in Wonderland”. Pres. Obama was spot on calling this The Crazy Season.
As always,
BB
