Irony: 2010 Mid-term head scratchers
When manipulators have the upper hand, like a moth to the flame, they always find a way in producing some irony which, I am sure, amuses them to no end.
I see an irony in friendless *Blanch Lincoln winning the Democratic nomination to run against Republican John Boozman and homeless **Alvin Green winning the nomination to run against Republican Senator Jim DeMint in November.
We are all familiar with the saga of Ms. Lincoln. The saga of homeless Mr. Green, an African-American, is seeking a seat in the U.S. Senate. A Senate seat like African-American Sen. Roland Burris has. A U.S. Senate seat like African-American Roland Burris had to threaten with a law suite to get. A Senate seat like that.
In my opinion, the irony is both Ms. Lincoln and Mr. Green winning against impossible odds only to come face to face with equally impossible odds. As they would say on the street, "I feel you, man".
The fix is in and Mainstream Media is $alivating big time! We are now paused to enter Mainstream Media’s heaven. Lights, camera, Action!
By the way, Mainstream Media has found a way to advance its stories with the extra bonus of keeping financial cost down by shamelessly soliciting and overtly begging Tweeters and the likes to contribute to their carefully structured stories. A win-win situation for them. I am mindful of the new song, “We own the world”. Irony.
As always,
BB

COLUMBIA, S.C. — An unemployed military veteran who raised no funds and put up no campaign website shocked South Carolina's Democratic Party leadership by capturing the nomination Tuesday to face Republican U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint in November.
And
Late Tuesday, stunned Democratic leaders in South Carolina struggled to comprehend how the little-seen candidate upstaged Rawl, a moderate Southern Democrat they viewed as their far stronger bet against DeMint. Rawl's lengthy resume lists four past state House terms and former posts as prosecutor, circuit court judge and more.
