2011: Tea Party, Coffee Party and Party Of No Labels
The Co-founder of the newly created Party of No Labels was on C-Span this morning. His name is William Galston.
A few weeks back when I first heard the name Party of No Labels, I immediately had thoughts of Michael Jackson being referred to as ‘a-sexual’ and after hearing a short segment of their mission statements on C-Span, my first impressions have not changed. If this political party can do to politics what Michael Jackson did to music, more power to them.
However and at this time, I feel stacking this newly created party up against the macho Tea Party would be akin to witnessing a fight between Mike Tyson and tear drenched John Boehner being dragged into the ring, kickin’ and screaming.
In other words, the party known as Party of No Labels has a long way to go to catch up with the resulting track record of TeaBaggers; a mighty looong way to go in a short amount of time. It’s a Missouri “Show me!” kind of thing.
The Coffee Party, created by Annabel Park is, (ahem) doing something in Washington, D.C. in a few weeks. The Coffee Party, by its very name, brings to mind the title, “The legend of Sleepy Hollow”. (Yawn) In any case, I wish them well.
Yes-sir-ree-Bob! 2011 is going to be another fascinating twelve months. Happy New Year!
As always,
