Can you win debating a liar?

Most of us first encounter the antagonistic,  innovative and downright  deceitful  personality of a liar early in life. Whether on the school playground, on the basketball court or in a working environment, our instincts tell us this is a person coming from way beyond our comfort zone. Most of us are not prepared to deal with such a person and as we mature, we try avoiding them as much as possible and the possibilities of fisticuffs.

The liar comes in all shapes and forms and are from all stations in life. However and in my opinion, they are all street thugs and can only be subdued by another aggressive, lying street thug.

While viewing re-runs of the first Presidential debate, I noted that Gov. Romney had taken all of the Presidents’ meaningful  talking points claiming them as trophies of his own, spiked with a few original lies and any defense put up by the President could have led to a full scale brawl and media frenzy.  I am sure the President was as stunned by the strategy as I was.  I was mesmerized…. Bravo!….the next afternoon,  chief Romney surrogate John Sununu  went on the Andrea Mitchell show and kicked over the bucket of milk by calling the President, “…lazy…and stupid”.  End of act 1.  (Curtain)

As always,
BB
