International Quid pro Quo and other shenanigans
I am at peace now. I know why Pres. Obama is constantly kissing the rear end of Republicans and bending over grabbing his ankles everytime he sees one. It has become a seductive and tantalizing art form for him akin to fan dancing.
This diary by Sydserious says it all; the Obama administration was the active participant in protecting the Bush administration from paying the price for its criminal activities.
To me, it is no longer a wonder why Republicans do-do on the President every chance they get. I know it is tasteless but people tend to do that to others when they have no respect for them regardless of racial issues. For the President, I think this has developed into what is commonly called 'un-anticipated consequences'.
It wasn’t supposed to be this way. And as a result, the President is in a serious state of denial (Shock?) that has to be taking its toil on him. Its just a matter of time. It‘s called, “Conscious” as the President finds himself doing what Albert Einstein said would happen when you do the same thing over and over expecting different outcomes.
For a person as intelligent as the President, this has to be a worrisome thing. I repeat, it is only a matter of time and I am sure professional helpers see this kind of thing happening all the time in their various practices. (Now we know it wasn’t Rahm.)
The Republicans, however, have to do their part. They have to keep their end of the bargain. They have to now present a weak Presidential candidate who is sure to lose in 2012. They need this guy staying in the White House to continue carrying their water with the extra bonus of delivering delicious news cycles.
Diplomacy is a bitch! We are learning this more and more from the Wikileak papers and I continue to believe heroes jump out on stage coming from the darnest places and when you least expect them.
This short and simple diary of Sydserious is indeed a serious one and I say, “Kudos! Thanks for posting!” My Mother use to say, “What you do in the dark will surely come to light.”
As always,
BB

WTF? Obama and GOP worked to kill torture probe
by Sydserious
Excerpt:
The case eventually came to be overseen by another judge who last spring asked the parties behind the complaint to explain why the investigation should continue. Several human rights groups filed a brief urging this judge to keep the case alive, citing the Obama administration's failure to prosecute the Bush officials. Since then, there's been no action. The Obama administration essentially got what it wanted. The case of the Bush Six went away.
And
Back when it seemed that this case could become a major international issue, during an April 14, 2009, White House briefing, I asked press secretary Robert Gibbs if the Obama administration would cooperate with any request from the Spaniards for information and documents related to the Bush Six. He said, "I don't want to get involved in hypotheticals." What he didn't disclose was that the Obama administration, working with Republicans, was actively pressuring the Spaniards to drop the investigation. Those efforts apparently paid off, and, as this WikiLeaks-released cable shows, Gonzales, Haynes, Feith, Bybee, Addington, and Yoo owed Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton thank-you notes.
