In reference to the President’s speech to Congress last Wednesday evening, you could call it an opening sentence of approximately fifty two minutes, an eloquent opening statement to the court, a preamble or maybe even an opening paragraph to some epic book or something.

If the President is going to go on a multi-state tour to talk in depth about his *HealthCare Reform Bill, I would like to think of his speech last Wednesday as an introduction to a community he has constructed. That is, a table-top version of a community you may see in an architect’s office with all the houses, churches, parks, apartment buildings, shopping areas, schools, the Court House etc., laid out in miniature form. You may “ooo” and “ah” without knowing or caring where the gas lines or water pipes are to be lain or where the broadband and telephone lines will be placed or even the names of the streets or the electrical outlets in the housing units. Those particular plans accompanying the table-top project would be in the architect’s private office, so to speak. If you ask to see them I am sure the architect would be glad to show them to you hence, President Obama’s eight state tour.

Due to time constraints on Wednesday night, the President was not able to go into those details and it would not have been appropriate. I strongly suspect this is the reason he is having a multi-state tour; to get into the minutia of his newly constructed community. Perhaps with a different state, a different insight into his community. It would take a bit of organizing but hey, so what? Perhaps even a brochure detailing his tour? (Smile) Just a thought……
As always,
BB
