Re: President Obama. Cut our loses?

Send Me Everything You Can Find About Glenn Beck

I don't know why I've got this phrasing in my head, but: Find everything you can about Glenn Beck,  Stu Burguiere, and Roger Ailes.

While tipping my hat to Keith Olbermann, I hasten to say it is usually the quite but still productive students in your class who finally stands up in utter frustration proclaiming that your class sucks and you are a shit head!

The reality of the situation is Pres. Obama letting White House employee Van Jones go due to the rantings of Glenn Beck and Fox News. This fact is not insignificant. In my opinion, this fact is the unquestioned culminating act as to how Pres. Obama runs his White House. The word “toothless” readily comes to mind. There should be no question about it. Memory tells me in the not to distant past, Pres. Bush gave people in similar circumstances The Medal Of Freedom.

Throughout the years I have told people I will help in whatever manner I can to help lift them as high as I can for them to reach the parallel bar swing they seek. I caution them, however, that after getting there, they have to swing themselves. I further tell them I may have enough energy to reluctantly give them a push or two if needed but the full inertia of whatever act they want to perform while there on the bars is up to them. Under those circumstances, I fell there is no blame to go around due to the fact the individual themselves may not know what their performance is going to look like and neither do I. I may have high hopes but so what? That’s fine with me. No problem. This is what they said they wanted to do. If during their performance there is “a Kodak moment” well and good. If not, I just cut my loses, if any, and wish them well.

Many, many times I think the person deserves to try and many, many times they themselves do not know what they can or can not achieve once reaching the parallel bars. A person “getting in over their head” is not a bad thing, in my opinion. The fact that they may have enough untapped reserves they did not know they had to survive is where it’s at. They can come down off those parallel bars a very different person. Whether auditioning for a part in one of my mini-musicals or a relative asking for a little hurdle help paying his rent or contributing to an expensive wedding. I tell them all my same parallel-bar analogy. That’s the kind of guy I am. What can I say?

I listened very carefully Thursday to the speech of VP Biden and this morning to Mr. Axelrod on Meet The Press and their were no positive blips on my radar screen regarding “Public Option”. I feel so sorry for my President. It seems he only has Michelle wherein Bush had Cheney, Rumsfield, Gonzales, Ashcrof and Fox News. Sad!
As always,
BB
P.S. Those of us who are parents and old enough to be grand-parents know of what I speak. We don’t want it to be that way but hey, that’s life! Some of us raise our children to say “Please and Thank You” while others raise their children to get what they want "by any means necessary!” Our children usually can not compete. Background is everything!
