Putt...Putt....ALLAGAZAM! Ossetia!!
Before Congress gets it britches all twisted with lobbyists and what Russia is doing, now maybe a good time to be reminded what we are doing or supposed to be doing.

Over the past 60 years, U.S. military leaders often compounded their bad advice by presenting overly optimistic reports on our progress in winning these wars. The most famous example of this was Westmoreland's address to a joint session of Congress in 1967, when he actually assured the legislators and the American public that there was light at the end of the tunnel in South Vietnam.
And
The mistakes of the military leaders in Iraq, from Gen. Tommy Franks onward, have been legendary.
And
Moreover, by listening to our military commanders, the Bush administration sent too few troops to Iraq and, by ignoring the warning signs of the developing insurgency and civil war in that country, proclaimed mission accomplished more than five years ago.
-Now, now stop fretting now, I know you care about whose running this war (Not!) and you are going to give the escalation into Afghanistan some serious thought. That‘s mighty nice of you. You know, you are really not the SOB everybody says you are. Just plain folks, you are. Down to earth, too.
In my opinion, what the McCain campaign is doing and what the Clinton campaign did to the viability of Sen. Obama worries me. A Democratic Congress will be his Achilles’ Heel and God help us all if Nancy Pelosi remains Speaker of the House! I have not witnessed such incompetence in every sector of our society in my life.
There is an irony going around suggesting President Bush is/was the “good guy” with varied angles to the Svengali suggestion. I must admit there is some validity to the position and now we have to re-interpret the famous line of President Truman, “The buck stops here”. So far, Bush, McCain and Obama have made statements regarding our new “crisis”, Ossetia. In my opinion, Ossetia is destine to become another Kosovo and Kurkuk. More of our treasury flying out the window along with military casualties. A fuckin’ shame!!
As always,
BB
